The Bam Team

Stephanie Wong ( Chair)

University can actually be fun. Being involved means more than just writing down your email on the mailing list during clubs day. If you want your SFU experience to be fun and exciting, you should find something that you enjoy doing. By being part of BAM, I feel that I am able to express my creative side as well as meet new friends. My goal as chair is to help create an atmosphere at SFU that students enjoying being part of. It’s not about the merchandise, it’s about the meaning behind these items. Don’t wear the merchandise just because, wear it because you are proud to be an SFU Business Student. Live it up 100% because 4 years goes by fast.

Diane To ( Vice Chair )

I plan to concentrate in MIS and HR.  I am currently working at SFU MECS as an Event Assistant and XXI; the largest big box retailer and the busiest at Metropolis servicing all sorts of customers. When I have free time, I enjoy watching movies, listening tomusic and volunteering for specials events around the community and at the SFU campuses. During the summer, I recently went on my very first vacation to LA with my friends and it was also the first time I was EVER on a plane! I love new creative ideas, designs and marketing. If you want your BAM swag, come and say hi!

Christine Nguyen
(Sales Coordinator)

Currently a fourth year Marketing student, I joined BAM because of my lack of involvement outside of the SFU classrooms. By being a part of BAM, I hope to meet amazing people, develop new friendships, and gain an overall more worthwhile school experience. As the Sales Coordinator, I will also be able to mildly incorporate my interest for fashion and fashion merchandising into my role as well!—after all, who said business-related merchandise can’t be fashionable? I also love to travel! Just prior to the start of this fall semester, I was in Australia for two weeks. I was able to see so many new things and animals! A natural kid at heart, I was so giddy when I was able to pet kangaroos and koalas! It was amazing!!! I look forward to this coming year with BAM, and I hope you guys will graciously support us by purchasing some BAM swag!

Viacheslav Trefilin
(Project Management Committee)

Hi! After spending a year here in Canada I feel like I want to use my knowledge and lots of energy to do something interesting and important on campus! That is why I became a part of BAM. Since I’m going to concentrate in accounting I try to look at the projects from the cost and technical perspectives and I really enjoy being this kind of boring person working with numbers! If you regularly attend SFU, I can bet that you have seen me at least once somewhere in the WMX, library, gym or Cornerstone; I spend almost the whole day at that places! I enjoy travelling, going to restaurants and reading inspiring books so if you feel that you don’t know where to go on your vacation, where to have dinner or what to read, just wave your hand and I will plan, calculate and organize it for you!

Jammay Louie
(Project Management Committee )

Although my last name may be misleading, I am not French…and no, my first name is not French for “never” or mean anything in a different language =). I’m actually 100% Chinese! To my dismay, I haven’t decided which concentration of business I would like to go into yet – hopefully being a member of BAM will help me decide.  I decided to concentrate on school during my first year so this is my first time being part of BAM, or any other SFU club that is. Hopefully I’ll be able to help plan lots of fun events that everyone will enjoy!  During my spare time I enjoy shopping, watching movies (one of my favorites is “A Walk to Remember”), volunteering, and swimming.

 Lorraine Liu
(
Project Management Committee )I am a third-year business student who is interested in marketing. Textbooks, lecture notes, and library always come in my mind when I think of my school life. I really want to make a difference to enrich my experiences in SFU. I want to make friends and get some practical experiences. So I start working at a neighborhood house as a volunteer, and get a position in BAM. The greatest thing in this organization is that they not only take advantage of members, but also care about whether members learn something in BAM or not. In BAM, I hope to study both business and communication skills. In my spare time, I like to go shopping and do cooking. I love food and always try to improve my cooking skill. Since I am an international student, I do cooking to take care myself.

 Anna Sun ( Designer)

For the past two years, I thought the school was just a place to study.  However, I wanted to get more involved and make more friends.  So, I decided to join the BAM and take on the position in the design team.  I love working in a team where everybody shares the same passion and interests.  Also, I love creative and unique ideas and I hope students will like our ideas!  Moreover, I love playing sports and read many fashion magazines.  So if you ever see me in school and want to share some interesting ideas, never hesitate to say hi!
